1930s BELT Girl Scout Gunmetal Buckle Be Prepared Official Uniform Excellent

WEBBED GIRL SCOUT BELT
RARE 1936,
with "BE PREPARED"
This webbed belt followed the "Stretch Trefoil Buckle" that is pictured in the Collector's Guide.  This has a "gunmetal slide and a trefoil stamped buckle,” according to the GS Catalog.   It has a great rope-like outline, with "Be Prepared" embossed around the Trefoil.  (This was the last buckle to have Be Prepared on it.)  The heavy webbing is 1.25 inches wide and measures approximately 27.5 inches long
including the buckle
.  The buckle measures approximately 1.5 inches X 2.25 inches.  This belt was used from approximately 1936 into the 1940s, and was an option instead of the "self-belt" made of the uniform material.
This particular belt is in
Excellent Condition for almost 90-YEARS OLD.  It s
till has the size on the underside of the webbing attesting to very little use.
Slight rust on the underside of buckle. Some
surface
scratches on the buckle face that barely show, and one round mark on the webbing that is not as prominent to the eye as the picture shows.
The buckle is in great working condition.  The webbing is sturdy and without fraying except for the unfinished edge under the buckle.   I have not tried to clean it.  Due to its age and rarity, this is very acceptable for the Collector.  It would be great on a mannequin or other display.  This is the exact belt that you will receive.
