    Description

    WINDSOR TIE, NO GS or TREFOIL
    1949, Unusual 48.5" X 5.5"
    There were MANY variations of color, size and trefoil designs to the Windsor Girl Scout Tie.  The distinguishing characteristic is that this one has
    NO TREFOIL and not even a G.S.
    The 1949 Girl Scout Catalog has no explanation as to why the identifying trefoil is missing, but the thoughts include that the Camp Uniforms are not "Dress Wear" and thus the tie shouldn't show the "dress insignia."  I have three colors and several of each, but I will list them separately with a new picture for each.  They vary extensively in condition.  This one is the best of the GREEN colored ones with NO signs of use of soiling.   Check my store to see the Yellow and the Gold Camp Ties.
    NOTE:
    I posted a poor picture of the name label that is sewn onto the underside of this tie.  Frances Green had her name in absolutely everything that I sold from her about 12 years ago.  I suspect she was a camp counselor as she seemed to have everything a Girl Scout would need to spend the entire summer at camp.
