    Description

This is a Campfire Girls Ceremonial Dress with pins, beads, handbook, hat and beaded sash or headband.  The dress is decorated with wooden beads, a tan felt piece decorated also with wooden beads and pins.  The fringe under the sleeves is made from brown felt.  There is a campfire girls patch on the left sleeve.  The tan felt piece has three pins on it.  Two pins have Camp Fire Girls Candy for Camp '61 and '63.  the other pin just says Camp Fire Girls.  There is also a sash or headband decorated with beads.  It is handmade from tan felt and ties in the back.  The cap has a Camp Fire  Girls label on the inside and a campfire embroidered on it.  The handbook is copyrighted in 1935 by Minden Press in New York City.  The owner's name is written in the front of the book.  The handbook has illustrations and photos.  There is an index in the back of the book.  It's an interesting part of history.  My mother was a camp fire girl.
