    Single map from the extensive United States Coastal Survey completed under the direction of A.D. Bache. Alexander Dallas Bache served as director of the United States Coast Survey for 24 years and directed some of its most important survey work on the west coast. This map includes San Francisco Bay with two insets for proposed lighthouses at Fort Point and Alcatraz Island.
