Antique Great Dane MASTIFF Bronze Spelter Metal DOG VTG Figurine REPAIRED TAIL
Large
copper plated spelter
or pot metal
great dane or mastiff
with
nicely aged
bronze
patina
.
His
realistic
pose,
crisp mold detail
, and
impressive size
at
14 inches long
makes him almost the size of a small dog. The
detail quality
and realistic style is similar to dog figures by Jennings Brothers, but I found no identifying marks on him and don’t know who the maker was.
Good
condition with a neatly re-attached tail
that is hard to see unless you are looking for it
(see closeup photo).

ypical
age related wear and discoloration with typical mold flaws & seams
. Felt dots were added under the paws to protect furniture.
Aside from the repaired tail, there are no other breaks, repairs, or touchups.
If flaws exist in my items, I do my best to show or describe them.
