Clevenger amber watchfob flask,"Edenton Tea Party," ltd. ed. of 215 handmade

Description

Actually, this handmade Clevenger is a reproduction only in shape and color, as its design and information are original, being designed and commissioned in 1975 in the very limited-edition quantity of 215  bottles. Handblown and open pontiled, this watchfob flask commemorates the Edenton Tea Party as being part of the 1976 Bicentennial of our Declaration of Independence's 200 year celebration. The bottle is 6 5/8" high x 4 5/8" wide. It has a Clevenger Brothers authentic handmade glass sticker on its shoulder and a "C" on one side of the base's pontil mark and a "B" on the other, referring to Clevenger Brothers. The front has embossing with an ornate tea pot in middle with "Edenton Tea Party" above and "1774 / Bicentennial / 1974" to commemorate this event. The reverse side has the event date of October 25, 1774, below which is indicated "earliest known / women's political / Activity in America / Fifty one ladies signed an agreement  to actively support the First Provincial Congress" (celebrated on a separate handmade bottle in the "First in Freedom" series). The bottle is accompanied by a pictorial brochure put out by the State of North Carolina in conjunction with the Bicentennial events that were North Carolina's "Firsts." The brochure is itself a collectible. (see photos).
