    Description

    Amethyst
Clevenger E. G. Booz's Old Cabin Whiskey bottle South Jersey glass GVII-13
Manufacturers of classic reproductions of early American blown glass, the Clevenger Brothers Glass Company (later Glass Works) of Clayton, NJ produced reproductions of the Whitney E.G. Booz’s Old Cabin Whiskey bottle from 1930 to 1999.
Offered here is an amethyst beveled roof Booz bottle made at Clevenger’s between 1946 and 1955. Like many Boozes of this variety, this bottle is shorter in stature than other Clevenger Boozes and has a very short neck. The corrosion in the mold frequently noted on this variety Booz is lightly seen on the front, leading me to suspect this to be a 1940s example rather than a 1950s example.
The bottle stands 7 3/8 inches tall and has a hand tooled top. It’s deep amethyst in color except around the corners and edges where the color lightens up a bit. There are no CB initials on the base or beneath the front door, assurance that this is an older Clevenger Booz bottle. The bottle does not have a pontil mark and is in good to very good condition. The only issue on this bottle is a burst surface bubble going from the front roof to the side. The top has some tooling fissures, not considered damage but mentioned
    here for accuracy.
