here's the quick skinny: Of all of the FX25's out there (I have now verified there are six versions), three have a plain light or dark green paint job with black lettering, and three have a sparkley bluish green paint job with white (or b&w) lettering. The FX25B and GFX25 are in the "sparkley" group. The FX25's with the non-sparkley paint are the ones that sound killer. The sparkley ones, FX25, FX25B, and GFX25, are all kind of mediocre. The plain green ones sound fat and smooth, the sparkley ones are less fat, maybe even a bit nasal, and have a tendency to harshness on the upper frequencies. Also the plain green ones have a cleaner note attack, while the sparkley ones can have a kind of mushy attack on the deeper (filter less open) tones. The Three Bar logo in this listing is the oldest and original version of the plain (kermit green) FX25 and it has the most low end out of them all, as well as retaining the most high end. It is by far the best sounding version of this filter that was made.
