    Description

Dolceola piano-zither, by Toledo Symphony Co.
This Dolceola plays and sounds great. Dolceolas were only manufactured from 1903 to 1907 by Toledo Symphony Company. Considered the most sophisticated of the fretless zither instruments, the Dolceolas has a keyboard mechanism that mimics piano action, allowing for greater expression than a piano-mandolin zither like a Marxophone or Celestaphone. The left-hand side has chords and the right hand signed has a chromatic arrangement of strings. There is a crack on the back protective board, but the soundboard does not appear to have any cracks.
