RARE, 1963 Senior Girl Scout HAT CORD, White MARINER, NEW on CARD, Collectors

SENIOR HAT CORD
WHITE for MARINER
In 1963, Girl Scout catalogs began showing the Senior Girl Scout Overseas Hat with NO COLORED CORD around the hat.
Instead, you bought the cord separately and sewed it on by hand
as shown in the third picture.  The cord was to match the Interest Patch your troop had chosen.
Here is a WHITE Hat Cord still in the original package
with the instructions on the back of the card on how to attach to the hat.  This was to match the MARINER Interest Patch and the White tie that also went with it.  This was a popular interest in the 1960s making this a little easier to find than most of the nine colors.  Here it is, still Brand NEW ---
