RARER WHITE TIE & HAT (MARINER) Vintage SENIOR GIRL SCOUT UNIFORM-BOOK-PURSE-PIN

This is a very nice addition at any collection. This listing has many neat things in it-a PURSE from the late 50’s-60’s, a SENIOR MARINER PIN, a SENIOR HANDBOOK and a SENIOR SERVICE BAR. The Vintage Senior Girl Scout Uniform was introduced in 1950’s. It became the uniform of all Senior Scouts. It is a classic 2 piece dress. The jacket is belted in the back and form fitted and hip length. The Skirt has a kick pleat in the back and is long as they were then-has not been shortened. It is made from 100% cotton sharkskin fabric in dark green with an iridescent effect. It is in great shape especially for being so old. The most common HATS and TIES are Yellow and Red. There were not as many troops who worked on the WHITE requirements, as this one was for the Mariner Interest Patch. The Hat is the same one that had been used with the prior uniform but a hat cord was added to coordinate with the interest patches. It is in great shape. The Pins are the Original ones placed correctly on the uniform. They are the World Association Pin, the Trefoil Eagle Pin and 4 year stars. There is also a SENIOR MARINER SHIPS WHEEL PIN and yellow SENIOR SERVICE BAR. The SENIOR BOOK is from 1963. The Cover is taped up on the front. The Covers were made from a hard Cardboard and got very dry and brittle over the years and crack very easily. The PURSE is in great shape with an inside zipper pocket and adjustable straps. The only spot I can see anything wrong is there is 2 tiny splits visible in picture #15 on the inside lid. These plastic purses split very easily on the seams that are over the cardboard making these harder to find in this condition. I take Pride in my uniforms taking the time to do research and make sure all the items are correct for that year. They are Clean and in great shape having had them in my personal collection for over 40 years in a cabinet away from the elements.
