  • Condition: Pulled after an advertising run, these signs adorned the top of our fleet throughout the region. With a unique "shark fin" design - a first for us - these signs have seen their share of weathering but they've come through with only scratches and scrapes here and there. None are completely unblemished, but all are in exceptional condition and have maintained the distinctive Landshark coloring. All fins are intact with no chipping, due primarily to these signs being 1/8 inch thick plexiglass - another first for us. Extraordinarily thick and as a result, very durable.

    Description

    These pieces of translucent plexiglass are a full FOUR FEET WIDE.  They're also 15-1/2 inches high - 19-1/2" when you include the shark fin that protrudes above the sign's center.
    These signs adorned the top of our taxi fleet, and they were backlit by fluorescent lighting - basically the same long white tubes you'll find in most ceilings.  The backlighting made these signs virtually glow at night.
    So what purpose do they have now?  For us, not a lot, really.  They don't take up space, but we don't need them.  But for you, the sign collector, the beer memorabilia collector, the man cave artiste...  well, this might be just the conversation piece you need to get that extra Wow! factor.  And while we can't backlight these for you, we hope you can see from the pics what happens when you put a little light behind them.
    Remember, some will have scratches and such, but none of that should alter your enjoyment of these pieces.  In fact, if you're looking for rustic or distressed, that's exactly what you need.  But again, blemishes are not major.  The pics we've posted are typical.  Our guess is you didn't even notice the small imperfections, or assumed they were part of the design.  That's what you want with this item.
