Vintage 1999 Let's Pretend Elmo - Dances and Sings - Mattel Fisher Price Tested

For sale is one tested and somewhat working 1999 model "Let's Pretend" Elmo made by Mattel/Fisher Price. The battery area in the foot was clean with no corrosion. I put in batteries to test it (not included) and when pressing the trigger in the hand, he does speak something about wanting to play but doesn't seem too inclined to start dancing. Maybe I'm missing something or there's a sensor? So I'm not sure if the central controls are fully working or if the motors work. Might be slightly partially defective.
Overall there are minor small tape marks, stains, scuffs, etc but it's in generally amazing condition for being from 1999!
