VINTAGE MORTENS STUDIO LARGE GREAT DANE ......IT HAS THE MORTENS LABEL ON UNDERSIDE OF BELLY...GREAT MUSCULAR AND COLOR SHADE DETAIL...DOG FIGURINE MEASURES 8 INCHES TO TOP OF THE POINTED EARS...LENGTH IS APPROX 9 INCHES FROM TIP OF NOSE TO END OF LEG STRIDE...OVERALL OK-GOOD CONDITION FOR AGE AND PIECE... THERE ARE AREAS OF CRACKS TO THE GLAZE ALL OVER.  IT IS  MISSING GLAZE/PAINT ON EARS AND TAIL AND ON BELLY.  PLEASE SEE ALL PICTURES.  IT IS BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE PIECE WHICH STANDS ON ITS OWN.  THIS PIECE IS ON THE HEAVIER SIDE AND FEELS LIKE CAST IRON.  WILL BE PACKED IN TWO BOXES AND WITH CARE.
These sculptures are different because they began with a metal and wire frame which was pressed and shaped and then he used a plaster ceramic medium and would then paint and glaze his pieces.
